After the end of the transitional period provided for in Article 126 of the "Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community" (hereinafter referred to as the "Withdrawal Agreement"), and following the conclusion of a Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the United Kingdom and the European Union on 24 December last, the two parties to the Agreement will no longer apply Community legislation on public procurement; However, in Spain, natural or legal persons from the United Kingdom will be treated in the same way as natural or legal persons from EU States in the award of contracts covered by the Trade and Cooperation Agreement. This transitional period ends on 31 December 2020.
